A Little Magick, A Little Mystery, and a Whole Lot of Heart

Welcome to Magick and Moonstone! Whether you're a seasoned practitioner, just beginning to explore your spiritual path, or simply someone drawn to beautiful, unusual, and meaningful treasures, I'm glad you're here.

Magick and Moonstone is an independent online metaphysical shop based in Red Deer, Alberta, born from a lifelong love of crafting, curiosity, and all things a little bit mysterious. What started as a small table at local vendor markets has grown into an online shop filled with carefully curated treasures for the curious, the spiritual, and the wonderfully witchy.

But like most good stories, this one has a little more magick behind it.

How It All Began

I've always known that I wanted to run my own business. Throughout my twenties, I spent years crafting, experimenting with different hobbies, and attending small local events. I explored everything from jewelry making to other creative ventures, always searching for that special something that could turn a personal passion into something more.

A friend once gave me a piece of advice that stuck with me: First find your passion, and then find a way to make money doing it.

It sounds simple enough, but finding that passion took a little time. I even became certified as a wedding coordinator, a path that taught me valuable skills and ultimately helped shape my approach to organizing vendor markets and bringing small businesses together.

Then life led me somewhere a little different.

After my mom passed away, I found myself drawn toward the witchy and metaphysical world in a more meaningful way. I had grown up watching her read Tarot, and she was the person who bought me my very first oracle deck. Those early memories had stayed with me, and they became part of the inspiration for what Magick and Moonstone would eventually become.

In August 2024, I took the leap and started Magick and Moonstone.

We began modestly, with a few Tarot decks, some candles, and a little box of mystical-themed jewelry, setting up at local vendor shows and sharing our finds with the community. In fall 2024, we launched our Shopify store, giving the business a home beyond the market table.

That little table has transformed into something I could only have imagined back then, and the journey is still unfolding.

More Than Just a Shop

For me, Magick and Moonstone is about more than the products on the shelves. It's about spirituality, curiosity, personal discovery, and the enduring connections that shape who we become.

It's also a way of carrying a little piece of my mom's legacy forward. My connection to Tarot and the metaphysical world began long before the business existed, and that history remains part of its heart.

There's a word often associated with this world: occult. It can sound mysterious or even intimidating, but at its root, it refers to something hidden.

And isn't there something wonderful about the things we have yet to discover?

I'm fascinated by the unknown, the symbolism and stories behind the things we encounter, and the many ways people find meaning in their lives. I believe there's room for curiosity without needing to have every answer, and that exploring spirituality can be a personal journey that looks different for everyone.

You don't need to know all the terminology, follow a particular path, or have years of experience to find something here that speaks to you.

Magick and Moonstone is a carefully curated collection of metaphysical goods, mystical tomes, and meaningful finds sourced from makers and suppliers who share a love for the unusual, the spiritual, and the wonderfully witchy.

Every item in the shop is handpicked by me, from the Tarot, oracle, and Lenormand decks to the books, candles, spell jar amulets, altar tools, and ritual components. I take care in choosing what I offer, selecting pieces that I believe are interesting, meaningful, or worth sharing with others. My hope is that, among these carefully chosen treasures, you'll discover something that speaks to you and your own unique path.

Whether you're building your first altar, expanding an established practice, searching for a thoughtful gift, or simply following your curiosity, there's always something new to discover.

As the shop continues to grow, so does the collection. My goal is to bring together an interesting mix of products that inspire exploration, invite discovery, and make the metaphysical world feel welcoming rather than overwhelming.

Magick and Moonstone is primarily an online shop, so you can browse our collection whenever it suits you. We also continue to attend scheduled vendor markets, where you can meet us in person, explore our products up close, and connect with other members of the local community.
